I worked in Artillery logistics my duties included- Checking incoming email/supply requests and identifying priority level- Complete a stock check for availability and ordered the item from supplier electronically through a secure MOD database, keeping paper based records for inspections.- Manage customer related enquires both over the telephone and face to face, providing supply advice and guidance on suitable equipment requirements to meet the needs of the customer.- Ensured all customers checked items before despatch and obtained individual signatures and ensured customers read the H&S policies for specialist equipment such as weapons and COSHH material.- Managed the COSHH secure cabinets within the supply chain department, inspecting the stock levels were in line with current guidelines for MOD storage.- Liaised with outside contractors and suppliers for all accommodation repairs and set timelines for completion.- Organised the loading and unloading of equipment for distribution ensuring the equipment was loaded correctly ensuring H&S elements were adhered to.- Carried out risk assessments for individuals working in office based and warehousing environments, ensuring staff working environment was in line with working best practice ensuring the wellbeing of the staff.- Prepared special equipment for monthly and annual inspection from internal and external inspection teams who carry out audits.- Delegated to warehouse staff on daily supply tasks, providing full daily briefing and carryout spot inspection on staff performance to ensure they are meeting deadlines for the supply chain.
