The infrastructure consists of a dedicated 24 hour IT Infrastructure supporting Head Office, 40 UK based depots & sites and a Disaster Recovery Facility.

Supporting ERP users across the UK and providing 2nd/3rd line technical support to an evolving user community, it was my responsibility to deliver day to day IT support for both Unix and Linux systems and desktop environments. Responsibility included all ICT based procurement, liaising with vendors and the formation and management of an IT helpdesk function for 1st line support.Projects:Evaluate and implement a companywide WAN utilising ISDN technology and Cisco routers allowing remote users access to centralised systems. Large cost-savings were made by replacing a legacy X25 network. Formulate a detailed rollout schedule for depot installations including configuration of Cisco 3620/803 routers and deployment of 100+ PC’s and AXIS print servers.Evaluate and rollout of a companywide email and Internet solution allowing secure, controlled Internet access and scanned email delivery. Software deployed as part of this project included:- GNATbox Firewall, Eudora World Mail Server, Trend Interscan AV, SQUID proxy server, Outlook & IE 5.
