As a senior research technician of 23 years, I am fortunate enough to say that I was able to take on many different challenges and roles throughout my career. Along that journey I realized my passion for engaging an audience and took steps to becoming a Master Trainer for the Federal Government through their SmartDriver program. Once that contract ended I continued to deliver tech-transfer workshops and speak at industry events while performing other tasks for various research projects. As a former OTR Truck Driver, I know my way around heavy equipment but when I started as a research technician in forestry, it was a different world. I had to discover new skill sets and adapt established talents to develop a varied tool box of skills.First and foremost on the skills list was public speaking. I discovered a love for transferring ideas and engaging an audience. To that end I also discovered I had a pretty good knack for narration and have had numerous opportunities to lend my voice to the Forest Transport industry and beyond.I am currently leveraging these skills to advance in my new career in the Construction Industry. With an eye for photography and an artistic flair, I was able to have my photos used for Transport Industry magazine covers. I also dove head first into creating a video for the first time ever. I produced the video, which can viewed on Youtube, to showcase the efforts being made by Forestry companies in terms of safety for road users and their company drivers.I am an experienced, passionate, loyal and honest person who believes firmly in reaching out to people to enrich their lives. I love communicating and meeting folks from all walks of life!
