Negotiate further funding, logistics and resources for projects within the community. Provide Supervision, Safety Management and Risk Assessment for projects. Midland Railway Centre – General Manager My role was extremely varied and demanded a high level of flexibility and adaptability to ensure a safe and efficient operation. Reporting to the Board of Directors I was responsible for the day to day operations and finances of a Heritage Railway with a turnover of circa £1 million. Duties included Liaising with local authority and HMRI on Health and Safety issues. Liaise with council and volunteer steering groups. Duties included the management of a team of 34 paid and 300 plus unpaid staff, estates including multiple buildings, retail outlets, catering outlets, woodland and a small farm, various subcontracts including New Deal/ CTF; providing work placement, job search activities and resources, Information, Advice and Guidance and Employer Engagement to achieve job outcomes. Railway Maintenance, Engineering Contracts/tendering and various other communities based projects. Other key duties included the planning, marketing and management of key events throughout the calendar to ensure demanding financial objectives were achieved.

Managed and formed a National recruiting team.
