After leaving Bristol University with a degree in Archaeology, I worked for Avon Archaeological Unit. This provided me with valuable experience in commercial archaeology and in particular environmental sampling and processing. The following year I completed a Masters in Post- excavation skills at Leicester University. During this post-graduate study, I concentrated on ceramic studies and archaeological illustration, and with a successful work placement at Norfolk Landscape Archaeology, I was able to build a portfolio of both site based and finds illustration. Following six months study in Sicily, I returned to the UK to work at the University of Cambridge on specific project based illustration related to research excavations on Malta. In January 1999 I was offered an Illustrators' position at the Cambridge Archaeological Unit. In addition to my central role, I have also carried out several small scale urban excavations, watching briefs and field walking projects and continued my involvement in international projects with excavations in South Africa, Cape Verde and Iceland.
