Performed data consolidation and statistical analyses to support nutrient standard development for Mississippi DEQ and for the US Virgin Islands. Performed geospatial analyses to support prioritization of two-stage ditch construction and wetland restoration at the HUC12 scale for EPA R5. Helped develop a spreadsheet tool for predicting stressor levels that extirpate genera and species. Conducted field research to support model development for Crooked Creek in Union Co, NC. Reviewed academic literature for white papers on aquatic nutrient limitation and on performance of agricultural BMPs under climate change.

Worked part-time with the CEINT NanoInformatics Knowledge Commons project. Helped to develop a template that will allow researchers to enter data into a database of nanotechnology environmental toxicology results. Also curated data from published studies into database. Database will eventually be used to statistically predict toxicological effects of new nanotechnologies.

Duke University Stanback Internship Program.Gathered and synthesized permits, design plans, environmental assessments, etc. related to 63 dam removals throughout the US. Submitted FOIA requests, emails, and phone calls to various US Army Corps of Engineers districts and state environmental departments. Also performed dam removal reconnaissance, using parcel records to locate the owners of old dams and sending letters with information on the benefits of removal.

Performed research in theoretical and computational polymer physics. Helped search for novel thermoplastic elastomers, using self-consistent field theoretical simulations to study the phase behavior of miktoarm block copolymer blends.Supervised by Professor Glenn Fredrickson.

Tutored individuals and groups in physics, chemistry, and mathematics.

Studied structural phase transitions in binary alloys using Monte Carlo and Cluster Variation Method simulations. Supervised by Dean James MacLaren and Professor Ricardo Cortez.

Worked on commercial dynamic light scattering instrument as part of R&D team. Helped improve laser beam waist measurements. Performed mathematical analysis, experimental setup design, programming, and data acquisition and analysis.

NSF Research Experience for Undergraduates, through Center for Computation and Technology at LSU.Performed molecular dynamics simulations of aromatic flame retardants in polystyrene.Supervised by Professor Randall Hall.

Helped prepare solutions of Ge-based nanoparticles. Used vapor pressure osmometry and spectrophotometry to determine concentrations and molecular weights.Supervised by Professor Mark Fink.
