Build CTO onboard a large private yacht in Holland that has now turned operational

I was asked to join Dreamboat 8 months after her launch from Oceanco to complete her warranty period. I have been heavily involved with all electrical/AV issues alongside designing a complete outdoor 4k cinema upgrade and new rope lighting install.

I Joined in the last five months of the build at the new Amsterdam Feadship facility. I got stuck straight in completing all the Electrical and AV commissioning alongside getting the yacht ready with spares and supplies for the upcoming busy owner/charter season. I worked heavily with the yard and contractors over the next year to complete warranty work and fix unsatisfactory works from the build. Lady S was a very technical yacht with a very demanding owner who I spent many hours working with on perfecting the system. She included the following systems of which I was responsible for: Fully certified IMAX and Dolby Atmos cinema (Maintained projectors and created movie playlists) Full Crestron NVX system with over 100 selectable inputs/outputs 40+ 8k ready TV’s Sound Web audio integration Full Lutron lighting system with DMX inputs Fiber IT system with Cisco backbone Seatel TVRO and VSAT antennas Wartsilla NACOS platinum bridge

I joined Faith 3 months after launch at the start of her warranty period in Feadship’s Makkum facility taking over the responsibility of contractor and yard warranty negotiations. I was involved with the AV upgrade and snagging along with many other teething problems from build. I have continued this role over the past year alongside continual upgrades and specific owner requests.Key Roles: Yard/Contractor warranty items Upgrade to Digital radio system (Hytera) Implementing a security audit and cyber upgrade Upgrades throughout to the AV system. (Soundweb, Crestron and Jetstream integration) Management of Cisco WLC network and phone system Upgrading the 4g system Lutron lighting additions and changes First year electrical distribution inspection

Employed as a temp ETO on MY-Quattroelle tasked with fault finding many of the electrical and AV system onboard. I was asked to fix or order parts to bring the boat back up to a yacht standard after a few years of neglect.

Responsible to the Chief ETO for all AV, IT, Electronic and Engine room Electrical equipment on-board an extremely high-profile vessel.My key roles have been: Maintaining and programming the Crestron system (including lighting system) Maintaining and Programming the Panasonic PABX system All aspects of Hotel systems Fault finding and maintenance of all electrical systems onboard Planned maintenance jobs Bridge navigation equipment Maintaining 4 large tenders and water sport toys (All electrical aspects) Providing a high-quality service to the owner for TVRO & VSAT Maintaining and improving the ships IT system

My key roles and achievements are as follows:• Solely responsible for the installation of the new AV/IT systems on board and have also trained all crew and guests in how to use them• Commissioning the complete new electrical installation• Heavily involved in two full winter refits in which the whole engine room and boats interior was gutted except the two main engines. All electrical cables and equipment were replaced.• Assisting the Chief Engineers in the re-build of the engine room and converting the vessel to 220/400v 50hz

I served a four year nationally recognized apprenticeship scheme at Pendennis World Class Super yachts. I graduated as a formally qualified marine electrical engineer. In order to build upon my knowledge and skills, I continued to work at Pendennis on various new builds and refits of yachts ranging from 30 to 70m after I qualified. Whilst at Pendennis I was involved with a whole range of electrical system from general lighting and fire systems to hydraulic networks and stabiliser control.
