If you aren’t in the business of genuinely helping people, you have no business being in sales. When I made a cross-country move to California in 2015, there were many unknowns - the city, the people and a new job. There was one thing that I knew for certain; I was ready to dedicate my professional pursuits to the betterment of other people’s lives - particularly those that have been taken advantage of in the past. Finance as an industry has room to grow. Not all finance firms are poor, but both employees and prospective clients need to be wary of partnerships made in this industry. My big move was ultimately inspired by Fisher Investments (FI). FI caught my eye because of the firm’s clear emphasis on clients. Don’t get me wrong, a lot of companies say they’re focused on their clients - especially in asset management. But now, over half a decade later, I can confirm that my impression was correct. FI is client focused in a way I’ve never seen. I’ve been lucky enough to build a very successful sales career here – earning the title of VP of Sales starting in 2018. In my newest VP role (2019), I’m able to help even more people understand the value of a firm that prioritizes client goals over short term profit. I will always carry my integrity and values with me in my work. I’ve found a family here at FI that is committed to supporting me, developing me, and bettering the lives of our investors and industry as a whole. In a world where it can be easier to do the wrong thing, I pride myself in doing the right thing, regardless of the resistance I face.
