Handling and framing high value fine art and documents while practicing museum quality archival standards. Custom exhibition solutions have been completed for many of the institutions and museums in the Washington, DC, area including Library of Congress, National Archives, and the Smithsonian Institute. Responsibilities and skills include mat, plexi, and glass cutting, mounting and fitting of artwork/document, stretching painted canvas, fabric wraps, packaging and transportation of framed artwork, installation, project management, and general shop maintenance.

My studio practice currently examines the political and social climate and the United States of America. Focusing on the American Dream and American exceptionalism, my work combines elements of performance, video, drawing, and photography in an object or installation based realization. Much of work consists of mapping, documenting, and performing repetitive, strenuous actions that call to mind the Myth of Sisyphus and Albert Camus' short story of the same title.Outside of studio work, I'm interested in art criticism, writing, curating, and exploring the relationship between the traditional gallery space and place-making of art in the public.

Provisions Library is a research and education center focused on the arts and creative social change. My responsibilities during the internship included conducting research, compiling a bibliography of resources for Provisions' residency program, maintaining Provisions' online presence, archiving digital press, gallery installation, writing multiple weekly blog posts from independent research, and other day-to-day activities with the director, co-director, and residency curator. During the final month of the 2012 Presidential election, I also filmed a brief documentary following the residents through their process and culmination of their research projects in Provisions' "Republic: Reviving Popular Politics" residency.

I assisted the Sculpture Shop Technician in shop safety and maintenance while assisting students in construction of their projects with both woods and metals.

This internship had me working side by side with Fine Artist, curator, and art educator Nate Young. I directly participated in his studio practice by completing a bulk of drawings, assisting in video editing/filming, and painting.
