Born on farm in Northumberland ; village school ; 13+ ; left grammar school on 15th birthday;worked on farm until February 1964; worked in Sheiling Camphill School until September 1965 ;attended Kirkley Hall Farm Institute on one year NCA course ;worked on farm until September 1973 ; worked as assistant psychiatric social worker in St Georges Hospital, Morpeth until July 1974 ; worked for agricultural contractor until 1977; worked as forestry contractor until 4.12.84 ; worked as care worker in Camphill Rudolf Steiner School Aberdeen ;March 1986 went to Lumi High School, Papua New Guinnea as farm manager, driver general fac totum; 1989 to 1990 farmer in Temple Hill Camphill School in Aberdeenshire; in 1990 helped in special school in East Malaysia for six months; traveled round Australia for two months and worked on cattle station and opal mine for six months; returned toTemple Hill, worked as farmer until it closed in 2001; stayed on as caretaker until it was all sold; took up present job as mini bus driver in Camphill School Aberdeen; bus driving licence expires June 2013,will take up lighter duties. Now disabled and retired aged 81.
