Vice President Of Services
Senior Technical Product Manager
Technical Product Manager
As a TPM for the IDAP (Integrated Data and Analytics Platform) team I jumped in to assist a Cloud Migration from AWS to GCP. In 2020, I lead both the IDAP Platform team as well as the enterprise Kafka team, building & scaling enterprise messaging platform at scale. While at CoreLogic I have (so far):- Helped to co-author a guide book for agile ceremonies including - but not limited to - scoping, design & framing, and inception. The guide contains simple practical steps to aid facilitation of these ceremonies and expected outcomes. - Facilitating company wide TPM meetups- Planned and hosted the first official CoreLogic meetup that helps to bring awareness of best coding & technological practices to others in our industry. Wrote a guide to allow other offices to easily create meetups. - Worked with a variety of teams both local, on-shore and off-shore and facilitated good team interaction to ensure value was understood and effectively worked on through timezones. - Was nominated and chosen for a pinnacle award given to roughly 1 in 300 employees highlighting outstanding leadership, dedication to CoreLogic values and going above and beyond expectations. The most challenging aspect of the Cloud Migration was the infrastructure part (the next phases, data and fulfillment were not trivial either). We were migrating from a Cloud Native to Managed Cloud environment and had to mature alongside our CloudOps federating team. Through this, as well as technological maturity challenges & data consistency issues, the team persisted and we were able to successfully migrate with zero impact to clients. For this work I received a pinnacle award. Later, while also leading the Platform team, I also assisted 3 other teams with their migrations, all successful and without any client impact.
Software Engineer
Following my internship, I was taken on as a full time software engineer at CoreLogic. - Engineered big data pipeline leverage Spark, HDFS, Kafka that converted Property data txt files to AVRO.- Created a UI to enable client configuration and fulfillment of property data to clients via FTP.- Involved teaching myself Angular 5 & CSS to create stunning website - Built similar UI for another business unit to fulfill credit data and allow for customer input as well as sales team. While building the credit UI, I was the “anchor” for the team. Both technical anchoring helping lead key technological and architectural decisions, as well as UI anchor helping to design & implement changes to UI as well as interpersonally. This involved training and onboarded new engineers - both on and nearshore. Through this time at CoreLogic we were following XP practices & always pairing. This was new to many engineers so I created some resources to help ease them into pairing and ensured they were up-to-speed and productive faster than many other teams. Throughout the time, I was always pushing myself to learn independently and quickly saw myself moving through projects to aid and assist as needed. Asking questions and filling gaps as required on both the TPM and engineering side. Giving 30 minute tech-talks to share learnings from our team to the broader office and teams. Maintained productivity and good working environment through transition of 4 bosses and 20 months for both myself and teammates.
Software Engineer Internship
While completing my summer internship with CoreLogic I was a member of the shared services team. We were developing a series of spring boot based micro-services for use by many parts of the larger organizations. While on this project, not only was I able to help develop live services, learn more about encryption, uploading and downloading files from S3 but also able to fully embrace the agile process. Our team was heavily invested in this process and, by throwing myself fully into it, was able to get a quick grasp of the routine and advantages of the agile process, the benefits of Test-Driven-Development and Pair Programming.
Co-Ceo / Chief Developer
As the Founder of MUN Crisis Platform `Deus`, we built a UI on a LAMP stack to facilitate the running of MUN Crisis committees. Along with building the UI and iterating with user-feedback, involved finding key partners to help promote the platform and key it a good artistic feel. Thanks to these partners and the innovation in platform Deus was used at 60 conferences in over 15 countries including the 4 largest in Europe for two consecutive years. Deus was a successful product-market fit as it iterated over the current products and learnt from their short-comings. It was the first custom built UI for MUN and we helped a slew of followers iterate and grow as Miro (co-founder) and I moved on from this adventure.
Under-Secretary General Of Partners
As Under-Secretary General of Partners my role was to find other Model United Nations (MUN) conferences and reach out in order to help form a mutually beneficial partnership. This involved fact-finding missions and reaching out through my network in order to find appropriate partners, reach out to them and form a beneficial partnership. Both with hand-shake deals and also to write up and enforce a partnership agreement to formalize the terms of our agreement. Over my two years as USG Partners we were from having almost no partner conferences in 2017, to having almost a dozen in 2017 to two dozen in 2018. By 2018 we had partner conference across the UK, France, Germany, Switzerland, and Israel. As USG of Partner my role is to help find other partner MUN's for us to cross advertise with and especially to find sponsors for this great conference. In this role my job is contact other official MUN's in order to seek partnerships with them.
Secretary General Of Yorkmun 2017
Taking over from the previous two Secretary Generals, along with the secretariat we were able to pull off a successful conference. Hosting more than 130 participants and 102 paid delegates. Booking rooms, organizing speakers, accommodation for speakers as well as insuring that all delegates had countries and were allocated countries, had fruitful debate and hoping the conference as a whole was successful. An amazing experience that taught me leadership, the hidden value and difficulty of logistics and the Press needed when the face of a conference.
Webmaster
In this role I am in charge of all technology at the United Nations Association York. This primarily involves recreating the website and refreshing it. Helping it adapt to the modern era helping all students and staff. For the current time I have created, using a template, the current website: unayork.co.uk without other assistance (except for content).
Work Experience - Intern
This was a one week internship at the WWF Headquarter. In this time period I was able to shadow the accounting department of this hugely popular non-profit organization and attempt to understand the differences between a for profit and non profit accounting departments and the increased logistical hassle that non-profits have.
