Growing up, I wanted nothing less than to become a successful Entrepreneur. At 17, I told my girlfriend, now wife and best friend for 37 years, that was my plan. Little does one know, how difficult and long the journey required for such a simple dream. Married young, my wife went to work 40 hours a week straight out of high school to put me through college. First to graduate in my family. It was my honor to assure my wife and family were always taken care of. This meant putting my dream on hold, and working for many other companies, both good and bad, for decades. I believe no time spent, anywhere, is ever a waste if we can learn something from each experience. I have had many rare (and humbling) opportunities to make mistakes, follow, learn and lead. Determined not to "go around the barn again" too many times, I have set out to learn as much as I can from the people I meet all around me. Fact: Life is a cruel teacher and is too short to learn everything the hard way.Truths: Listen & Learn from others mistakes. Actually apply their advise. Save yourself years of time and pain. The only feeling that is worse than failure, is regret. If there was a skillset I was most proud of. It would be my ability see great potential in everyone and to surround myself with those amazing people. Hire for Character. Train well. Provide all resources and access necessary to succeed. Let them do their job. Give them the credit due. Its not complicated. Father of three amazing, grown children who do a wonderful job showing how much they love their parents. Fact: Marriage takes work. Truths: Marry your closest friend. Never choose work over family. Don't go to bed mad. Appreciate what you already have.My greatest treasure? My secret advantage? My best resource for tackling life? It is my personal relationship with a very patient and loving God.Fact: We all need hope. Truths: Don't blame God. Cut each other a break. Forgive. Give without expectation. Be thankful. Repeat. Owner/PresidentForester, Llc : Estates & Appraisals Jan 2004 - PresentKEY TIPS TO HIRING ESTATE COMPANY:1. Hire Realtor last (or at least list house last). Good Realtors do their jobs well & sell quickly. Having a sale first will not hurt realtor & will only help you with timing, house updates & make you more money. Often houses are sold quickly & the likelyhood of you packing, moving, locating a quality estate company AND have sale will not fit within your 30-60 day closing. Give every professional the proper time they need to get the job done correctly. Its what your paying for. Whatever you do, DON'T just move everything to a storage unit. There are zero options to sell for you. No estate, auction house or consignment will take your stuff if they cannot see it ALL first. You cant just point to stacked boxes. 2. Hiring the lowest commission estate company will COST you thousands of lost dollars in the end. Just conducting a sale does not equal having a highly profitable, effective sale. We get many calls from families who underestimated whats involved & are stuck with too much after its over as too few attended. You only get one shot at a profitable estate sale. 3. Hire a properly insured estate company who does only that, year round, full time, with paid employees & not part-timers paid under the table. 4. Don't sell items before your sale. You will only hurt yourself. Those items attract more customers that will far exceed what you save in commission. Don't sell your car before the sale as the estate will attract literally hundreds of interested buyers for your car & it will assure a better price than selling on your own. It places YOU in a better selling position. 5. Work with estate expert to make a timing and transition plan. The plans you have may not be realistic. This is not what you do for a living. You must gather up as much information as possible before you make some big decisions. CALL TODAY FOR FREE CONSULTATION989-497-0200
