Maximum Engineering is a quick-turn engineering and manufacturing group offering full product development services from concept, to virtual image, to product in-hand. After graduating the Professional Development Program, I took a position in the Environmental Testing Lab (formerly PQL). Here I perform vibration and climatics testing of Northrop's cutting edge ground, air, and space radar systems for product design and build qualification. These tests involve various acoustic, vibration, thermal, vacuum, pressure, strain, and other requirements. I am involved in the process from test quoting and initial design, to procedure and fixture development, test operation, and data evaluation.

I have completed the Professional Development Program (PDP) at Northrop Grumman Electronic Systems. The program consisted of three 6 month rotations in different departments in the company.My third rotation was with the mechanical design engineering group at Northrop Grumman Undersea Systems. I completed designs and analyses for the vehicle's launch and recovery, and anchoring systems involving stress, flow, and geotechnical investigations. I also supported the weld crack investigation of a large and complex vendor built structure that failed during load test. I rolled out the process and supported the department's new engineering 3D printer, and lead the layout and mechanical assembly of the department's R&D Underwater ROV.My second rotation was in the Final Assembly areas of Northrop Grumman ES. I worked as a manufacturing engineer supporting antenna and component builds ranging in size from small boxes to ship based radars the size of a small house. I gained exposure to marine, ground, air, and space devices through creating and revising work instructions, documenting new builds, and providing quality and component revision support. I helped interpret drawings, and worked with technicians and designers to create process improvements and tools to streamline manufacturing.My first rotation was in the Product Qualification Laboratory (PQL). I performed environmental testing on Northrop Grumman's cutting edge radar components and systems. I have experience with altitude cycle, vibration, and thermal testing including procedure and fixture development, test conduction and management, and data reduction and evaluation. Testing I have been involved with ranges from short engineering tests for basic product development, to massive reliability demonstration tests on production units with hundreds of hours of data collection. I became familiar with complex fixture design, equipment capabilities, and gained hands on experience with vibration and thermal control.

•Completed fixture designs for various projects in Unigraphics NX.•Met with manufacturing, testing, thermal, structural engineers to determine fixture design constraints.•Worked with thermal, structural, and drafting engineers to ensure quality design and fabrication of parts.

•Aided in setting up the laboratory for labs and courses as needed, printed clientele’s jobs.•Set up, ran (using CatalystEX), and maintained uPrint prototyping machines.

• Led new thermal-conductivity test unit development (incl. design and business strategy).• Performed maintenance and repair on old testing units, assembled custom testing unit.• Constructed and installed geothermal manifolds, loops, and systems.• Performed soil thermal-conductivity and aquifer tests, built a database to house and compute well data.
