A seasoned, talented, trainable and adaptable Procurement (& Supply Chain) professional, experienced in Global Supply Chain and Procurement dynamics; currently serving at PATH as the de' facto Global Head of Procurement. Served for 5 years (2 months) at the British Council where I set-up & led a team of 12 in Sub Sahara Africa. The team was key in advancing compliance to corporate policy, donor/financier (such as the European Union, FCDO/DfID, USAID, World Bank etc) requirement, maintained agility, flexibility and responsiveness to business dynamics. During Covid-19 (2020 to 2021) pandemic, the team was key in re-engaging service providers to ensure the company did not have to incur unrequired expenses through "dead services" but also cushioning vulnerable supplier groups; by this move, a saving of circa £1m was realized. Privileged to have served at the largest Aid for Trade Organisation (TradeMark Africa) in the World for about 7 years in various capacities. Was part of the team that achieved Corporate CIPS Certification in 6 months. Gained immeasurable experience in working on multiple Donor Finance Projects e.g. World Bank, AfDB, EU, DANIDA, FCDO/ DfID, USAID amongst others right from strategy to delivery. The projects included One Stop Border Posts across East Africa, Ports Projects at Kenya Ports Authority, Tanzania Ports Authority, I also worked on massive IT projects for Uganda Revenue Authority, Kenya Revenue Authority, Rwanda Revenue Authority, amongst others.I was also privileged to work in the civil service in Kenya for slightly over a year, working on an AfDB funded project, field operations with compliance to the Public Procurement & AfDB regulations being key focus and being part of the Project Implementation Unit for the whole period. Before, this, I started off in the private sector for 4 years where competitiveness and business development in the supply chain department was core.Throughout my career, I've been a mentor to many and lecturer in various Universities which has helped in my day-to-day engagement with the units I serve since it is key to going along with teams for wholistic results.I am considered top-grade in terms of prudence, believer in equal opportunities to all businesses & believer in Social Supply Chain (SSC) through Equality, Diversity & Inclusion.
