Graduating with a double major in Mathematics and Secondary Education my first jobs after college were in the education field. Being a classroom educator was such a fun and rewarding role that always kept me on my toes. To preach and teach a love of lifelong learning I needed to continue to learn myself and every year saw me undertake new roles and classes depending on the need of the school. One such transition came when learning of my coding background (through my Mathematics degree) I was given STEM heavy classes in Engineering & Design as well as creating an entire programming curriculum from the ground up. I quickly found that these classes were far more fun that a typical math class and threw myself into learning these new skills. Due to this growth I began to look outside of education to see where I could continue to grow and made the transition in 2019 to the IT world.I started at the entry level position of Customer Success Specialist at Railinc (an IT company for the Association of American Railroads) and after a year transitioned to the level two role of Product Specialist, before being tapped to take on a Business Analyst Role a year later. Each transition saw me narrow my focus and go deeper into the understanding of the business as well as getting the opportunity to work with developers, QAs, customers, stake holders, and working with other internal teams on how to best create and support upcoming projects and releases
