I am primarily responsible for ensuring financial compliance for three high-net-worth (HNW) families and the over 90 businesses they own and operate. This includes preparing financial statements for companies, trusts, partnerships and charities, as well as working closely with Pricewaterhouse Coopers for four HNW self-managed Super funds.Some highlights of this tenure include building trust with a range of stakeholders to successfully guide the group through the ATO’s Top 500 review with no tax adjustments. I also drove a faster, more efficient and more accurate approach to financial management, implementing new accounting software to streamline processes and improve reporting.Additional Achievements • Maximised stakeholder returns, reviewing processes, maintaining durable relationships with corporate and private bank managers from all major banks and providing strong forecasting to effectively manage substantial deposits.• Provided trusted advice, working closely with key stakeholders to ensure compliance whilst achieving the best tax outcomes on new business structures.• Managed the lodgement of over 100 income tax returns, over 50 monthly and quarterly activity statements in house; and prepared consolidated P&L and Balance Sheet for 80 companies on a bi-annual basis for audit by Ernst & Young.• Designed a consolidated accounts report for over 80 entities, allowing real time reporting at the press of a button by extracting data directly from the server.• Improved interdepartmental communication and supplier invoice processes by implementing a Continia invoice approval system as part of the accounting modernisation.• Collaborated effectively with the software vendor, providing an alternative account reconciliation process that saved more than a week’s worth of work.• Fostered a culture of empowerment, encouraging team members to share knowledge and think for themselves to strengthen capabilities and skills transfer.

As a Senior Manager, I led a team of six staff to ensure the strong, timely management of financial and tax compliance for a diversity of accounts. This included providing advice on general business operational matters and representing clients in ATO audits.I am particularly proud of the pivotal role I played in resolving an equity issue in a multimillion-dollar private company, setting parameters and providing input for the shareholders agreement. I also worked closely with clients and successfully de-grouped a suite of related entities to achieve positive outcomes on a Western Australia Payroll Tax audit.
