ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING / COLD SPRAY● Designed and executed iterative process optimization of cold spray depositions to determine the correlation between key process parameters (temperature, pressure, powder formulation) and product quality (porosity, hardness, adhesion, ductility, fatigue), and was able to successfully reduced coating porosity by over 50% while increasing adhesion by 35%● Navy Technical Point of Contact for $7.5 million coordinated test effort between seven internal and external organizations to test and optimize cold spray depositions to qualify cold spray for use on F/A-18s● Technical lead for a team of six engineers performing $300,000 of technical work and testing on the behavior of deposited cold spray coatings● Submitted 11 funding proposals and brought in over $600,000 of direct funding to the Materials Engineering Lab● Presented to audiences exceeding 100 people with highly-ranking members including Admirals, Captains, and Senior Executive Service membersSPECIALTY COATINGS● Deputy lead managing project portfolio, progress, and deadlines for National Low Observables working group of 14 members● Worked in production facilities with shop technicians to perform first article tests on new coating processes, instruct level I certification trainings, and perform emergency root-cause analyses on production work stoppages● Implemented innovative injection process promising to save ~$350,000/year and reduce turnaround time on a top readiness degrader● Presented injection project at Defense Symposium as a finalist in Maintenance Innovation Challenge to approximately 400 people with highly-ranking members including Admirals, Captains, and Senior Executive Service members● Authored over 30 technical engineering instructions and reports
