Before graduating from UCF with a Professional Science Masters in Health Care Informatics, my study experience included attending the 2017 and 2018 annual Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) conference in Las Vegas and Orlando respectively, further fomenting my interest in the fields of Health IT, particularly in consulting, Health Analytics, Epidemiology, Data Mining, AI Informatics, Machine/Deep Learning, and Population Health. I had the opportunity to serve as Program Assistant for HIMSS 2017, attending seminars in Population Health and the ethical implications of Machine Learning and AI. My Master program's capstone and internship with AdventHealth enhanced involved back-end Population Health applications like IBM's Watson Health, EHR validation such as athenaNet, and CMS/HEDIS Measures for health screening compliance and metrics, with the final week focused on a four day, introductory course to Cerner's EHR called Cerner Millennium: Fundamentals.After my wonderful experience as a Data Integration Specialist at Partners In Health, my voracious attitude for achieving Global Health Equity has invigorated my interests in Bioethics, Climate Science, International Relations, Public policy, political economy, sociology, anthropology, and the biosocial determinants of health.Avid reading in my spare time has rekindled my fondness for history, political economy, and political philosophy, discovering modern political theorists and socioeconomic scholars like Mancur Olsen, David Runciman, Edward Luce, Branko Milanovic, Rob Reich, Tressie McMillan Cottom, and many others.
