R&D Drafting Automation Specialist
CurrentIn R&D my main focus is the development and implementation of new and innovative automated drafting programs while actively maintaining and improving existing programs. I am currently specialising in the automation of AutoDesk Inventor and AutoCAD using various combinations of iLogic, VBA, .NET, SQL databases, and Visual Studio. I am also actively involved in designing new and innovative physical solutions that will positively impact both internal manufacturing and the end customer. Recent projects include the adoption of an automated CNC centre. I have been working to modify existing processes and documentation to provided CNC machining data. A large part has been to create a program to read an AutoCAD file and convert it to a table for use in a SQL database. To provide a strong internal and external customer focus, I support multiple departments to maintain and improve tools and processes while also working closely to develop and maintain standard parts and documentation. I also work closely with external suppliers in the development of new and improved products. I am also in charge of additive manufacturing R&D. I work to find and develop opportunities for the application of FDM 3D printing using an Intamsys Funmat HT printer.
