My strengths are communicating and collaborating with others, especially concerning conservation and environmental solutions in urban settings. I have been working within the world of urban forests since 2018, specializing in community forest planning in the Midwestern U.S. I believe in using my skills and experiences to develop healthy, environmentally just communities where green spaces are accessible to everyone and are responsibly managed. I have extensive experience in urban tree surveys, tree health and hazard tree assessments, and GIS and iTree Streets Software. Through my knowledge of tree health and biology and the integration of technology, I have the capabilities to help communities develop comprehensive urban forest management plans and strategies. Additional info: While I received a Forestry B.S., my roots derive from agriculture, having come from a rural community in central Illinois. While I remain a passionate environmentalist, I continue to believe in the future of sustainable agriculture and will always support Americas farmers. I am a proud Alumni of Iowa State University and have had the privilege to serve as a member of the Iowa State University Alumni Association Board of Directors. Authored several chapters of the City of Des Moines, IA Urban Forest Master Plan, and focused on urban forest equity within lower income neighborhoods.
