Acting Lead ICE Engineer (January 2013 - February 2014Engineering support and direction based on total lifecycle approach during all phases of CSG Projects, including conception, planning and development of engineering design, projects, processes, proposals and estimates, developing or reviewing specifications, engineering deliverables and providing practical engineering solutions. Monitored/oversaw the activities of engineering service providers (ESPs) ensuring they produce safe designs that are fit for purpose and meet Origin’s requirements both technically and operationally.Lead or participate in design and process safety reviews (Design Review, HazId, HazOp, and LOPA) ), operability, and other reviews which form part of the engineering assurance requirements for electrical equipment and instrumentation used to control or in association with piping systems, machinery, rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, turbines), valves, control systems, electrical supply equipment, communications equipment, etc. Development, implementation and maintenance of existing and new design standards, guides, and procedures.

Design, manage installation of, commission, maintain, fault find and rectify a variety of equipment and services as per project requirements and operational site requirements. Maintain and repair/replace control elements including Allen Bradley PLC’s, Triconex Safety PLC, SCACAPack LP, 2 and 350 RTU’s, MVT’s, RTD’s, Pressure Transmitters, Magflows, Ultrasonic flowmeters, temperature transmitters, Ametek Moisture Analysers, Daniel Gas Chromatographs, Trio MR and ER series Radios and Repeaters, Emsby and Allen Bradley VSD’s, Fire and Gas Detection and Alarm Systems, Inductive Proximity sensors, actuators, solenoids, Positioners, PH transmitters, ORP (Redox) transmitters, Conductivity Transmitters, Turbidity Transmitters, Pressure controllers, Ultrasonic Level transmitters, AVR’s and frequency transmitters. Modify SCADAPack RTU and Allen Bradley RSLogix ladder, function block and/or structured text logic where necessary. Perform basic Citect modifications where necessary. Manage and train new Instrumentation/Electrical Technicians and provide support and advice for engineers and IT professionals regarding existing and planned control systems.

Design, project management, construction, factory and site acceptance testing, RF site surveys, installation and commissioning of “turn-key” solutions for various telemetry and control needs of customers from Water and Waste Water, Coal Seam Gas, Oil and other Resources, and Infrastructure sectors. Such solutions include SCADA Systems, RTU/PLC control, repeater and other control cubicles, switchboards, and other solutions, incorporating Kingfisher RTU’s, SCADAPack RTU’s, Omron PLC’s, MVT’s, Trio and Tait Radios and Repeaters, GSM Modems, VSD’s, Soft Starters, Multitrodes and various other control devices.Modify Kingfisher and SCADAPack LP ladder logic where necessary.

Fault find and rectify 3 phase and single phase circuits including lighting, power, motor circuits and related control (including VSD’s and Soft Starters) using Allen Bradley PLC’s (SLC 5 and 500). Maintain and repair/replace control elements including PE sensors, Inductive Proximity sensors, load cells, RTD’s, limits, solenoids, multiplexers, pressure transmitters and pressure switches. Perform basic services and maintenance on X-ray and Robot equipment, Cryovac vacuum packing systems, Carton Erectors and Lidders, and Refrigeration equipment. Overhaul 0.5 – 550kW AC motors and repair and routine testing of electrical appliances.
