Project Engineer on Enlow Fork Mine's Overland Conveyor Project. The project consists of the construction of a 6 mile belt line system. The system consists of 9 conveyor belts for transportation of coal from the mine's new slope, to the coal preparation facility. The project involves large scale steel erection of multiple structures for both support of the conveyor line and house the drives and chute work in the transfer buildings. The project also involves the installation and commissioning of multiple heavy duty and complex drive systems to power the system. This includes installation of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems to control and power the variable frequency drives, break systems, and other aspects of the system. Everyday duties of the project engineer position include:Working with contractors in the everyday construction and installation of systems.Gathering quotes, procuring materials, and paying bills via the SAP system.Working to maintain a safe, accident free work site for all employees and contractors working on and with the conveyor system, all while complying with CONSOL as well as state and federal policies and practices.Organizing and scheduling the start-up testing and commissioning of each of the nine conveyors individually and also as a complete system.Dealing with a variety of day to day problems as they arise during the project in a timely and effective manner.

Conduct detailed time studies of different mining related activities. Create reports and spreadsheets organizing all of the data and presenting it. Provide suggestions on improvements related to studies. Learn all aspects of operations with Consol Energy, from mining to processing to research. Assist with operations where necessary, (e.g assist engineers, assist safety department, help geologists, etc.).

Worked summers and helped with the installation and repair of HVAC components, as well as assisting with wiring of new houses and other electrical installations.
