Calington is the British trading arm of APP the second largest paper and pulp manufacturer in the world based in China and Indonesia. Main Roles included searching, approaching and maintaining future potential printers and paper merchants within the UK. I continuously liaised with internal and international support departments in order to provide a professional accurate service. I would gather and update market intelligence, interpret trends and produce presentations to management for use in forecasting future sales and to maximise profits.

I worked for this charitable organisation as a care worker at a 24hour care home facility, looking after young people with mental and physical handicaps. I found the whole experience challenging and immensely rewarding. My position within the team was too essentially to make the whole experience fun and provide the best levels of care. After friendly informal meetings with parents I produced extensive written reports to add to each individuals file. I would then need to analyse this to determine what activities they would be attending, assess past reports and highlight critical information for their care.

My business partner and I created and managed our own gardening company. We enjoyed a lot of success in this short time and employed over 6 members of staff on a part time basis. I learnt many new skills during this time; the most important included maintaining financial records, time management and staff supervision. We built up strong customer relations and successfully negotiated with clients to ensure that we were profitable and competitive in order to obtain the work.
