Provide care for patients admitted to the long-term care facility at the VA. Practicing skills of direct care for patients suffering from strokes and amputations. Caseload also includes patients with spinal cord injuries, postoperative total joint arthroplasty, and post surgical cardiac patients. Uses skill-set and knowledge to provide gait training, prosthetic training, therapeutic exercise, and neuromuscular reeducation treatments. Works as part of a multi- disciplinary team, which includes physical therapists, physical therapy assistants, orthotists, and proshetists. Provided direct patient care including manual therapy: soft tissue mobilization, joint mobilization and manipulation, therapeutic exerices, neuromuscular reeducation, and modalities. Managed caseload of 10-15 patients.

Performed examination, evaluation, and plan of care development to patients with orthopedic disorders and those with diabetic, venous stasis, and surgical wounds. Evaluation of patients was perfected through knowledge of the McKenzie Institute Method of mechanical diagnosis. Exemplifed strong direct patient car including therapeutic exercise, neuromuscular reeducation, modalities, and patient education. Patient wound care was strengthed through use of selective and non-selective debridement, lower extremity wrapping, and KCI Wound Vac application and dressing changes.
