I love helping in whatever way I can and have helped to set up and grow several charities, meeting some brilliant people along the way.Prior to that I was a commercial legal adviser specialising in managing legal and commercial risk in a cost effective and solution focussed way for multinational and quoted companies in one of the most highly regulated industries in the world.I have c30 years wide ranging experience as a solicitor, both as a partner in private practice and in-house in the energy sector, including nuclear energy, coal, gas and renewables. This interesting and varied workload included negotiating complex corporate restructurings, M+A both domestic and internationally, joint ventures, commercial contracts, project financings, complex property transactions for infrastructure projects, nuclear fuel and liabilities contracts, legal decommissioning issues, stakeholder management including with Government and regulators, and stock exchange and company secretarial compliance.
