In the wake of September 11th, a man who grew up with his mother in Eastern European brothels comes to New York City searching for an adventure, identity, and home. The US of A has other plans for him, though; it will give him what he wants for a price. A series of imposed quests drives our beleaguered hero through America's dark heart from New York to Boston to a Walmart on the outskirts of Atlanta where he finds and spreads damnation and salvation while working the night shift.

Using a combination of robotics technology and wearable computing for specially trained rats, we have devised a new way to map landmine fields. The idea for the technology was developed from an award-winning short-film titled 'Where the Robot Things Are' that conceived of new ways to assuage the humanitarian toll of landmines.The rats are fitted with a waistcoat containing a small accelerometer-based electronic unit designed to collect real-time motion data while the rat searches for land mines thus enabling us to detect precisely when the rat gives an indication of the presence of a land mine.

Founded Mindshare.LA in 2006 by Doug Cambell and Adam Mefford, Mindshare offers people from diverse backgrounds an evening of inspiration and interaction at various downtown LA venues. About 400 attendees enjoy hors d'oeuvres and an open bar, then gather at 7:30 for cocktails and then watch five 10 minute talks on a variety of topics. The Tiziano Project is a not-for-profit that used to teach journalism to people living in conflict zones and neglected parts of the world with an emphasis on creating jobs through media training. The organization worked in places such as Rwanda, Somalia, DR Congo, Iraq, Kenyan slums, a California youth prison, Israel, Palestine, and South Central LA.
