I've been with the Alexa division of Amazon since April 2017. I started in a quality role, analyzing customer data and device behavior. I became a subject matter expert in that field and was trusted for quality analysis of the work my peers were doing. In 2019, I joined a team that is more forward-focused, taking on many different types of projects from machine learning to beta testing to speech recognition. I have been a trusted project owner many times over, and was also tasked with sending daily project updates to our worldwide teams (until this process was automated). Before Amazon, I was in grad school at Emerson while holding a temp job at Education First. I held a quality role there as well, organizing and analyzing customer reactions to international guided tours. The temp job was originally three months but was extended to six months based off of high-quality work.I have done plenty of freelance writing of all types; I write about music - from show reviews to albums to interviews - on both a personal blog and a local Boston publication. I have also been published in a paid marine wildlife journal, as well as some freelance work for small rehab clinics. Also, I have written a number of online petitions to raise awareness of injustice issues.

I interview local artists about upcoming shows or releases, cover music and arts festivals, and review concerts by artists both local and international. Prior to joining the team I am on, I worked in a quality role with user data from Alexa devices. I was a subject matter expert in that role and worked on quality analysis of both Alexa devices and the work of my fellow employees. I also assisted in the training of other Alexa teams internationally. -

It was virtual and remote, so I could work on my own schedule. All research and writing I performed was entirely independent, with work sent to an editor. I was held to a minimum of 5 petitions a week. I was also offered an expanded role at the end of the trial internship, but I declined. -
Gap YearCareer Break May 2013 - Jun 2014After graduating college, I moved home and looked for full-time work.
