This included;- 30 weeks basic training at BRNC (Britannia Royal Naval College) focusing on military leadership, maritime training and wider military skills- 15 weeks academic instruction at BRNC centred around understanding the principles of meteorology, theory of sensors and equipment, and the theory of the behaviour and characteristics of ships and submarines. This period also involved mentoring cadets during their basic training, ensuring they met the required standards.- 13 weeks at sea aboard an Amphibious Assault Ship which was acting as the flagship of a NATO Maritime Task Group within the Mediterranean. This involved working in all departments onboard to gain wider experience and understanding of the operation of a large and complex Warship (combined crew of >800). This also allowed a period of shadowing the Operations Officer during several multinational NATO exercises, involving complex coordination of air and sea assets to achieve the aim. -
