Serving as a Warfare Officer (Submariner), a varied and high-pressure role within the executive department of a nuclear submarine. Duties within the role include;- Acting as the CEO's sole representative, responsible for the safety and security of a £1.5BN nuclear submarine (including nuclear weapons)- Receiving, processing and understanding various sources of information to brief to the CEO, enabling strategic decision making- Playing a key role in the generation and editing of patrol reports (700+ page report on operations, containing contributions from across various departments)- Coaching and mentoring junior members of the crew, including chairing qualifying boards

Serving at sea in 2 different Warships and different areas, working as a junior member of the Executive Branch to deliver operations whilst completing job-specific training.- Responsible for ensuring effective delivery of the operational programme, coordinating across all departments to meet the command objectives- Daily briefing to the CEO of weather conditions and their effect on operations, and the wider operational programme within the local areas, ensuring deconfliction with other units- Conducting strategic level engagements with international partners, including hosting foreign dignitaries and UK diplomatic representatives

Undertaking initial training as a Warfare Officer in the Royal Navy. This included;- 30 weeks basic training at BRNC (Britannia Royal Naval College) focusing on military leadership, maritime training and wider military skills- 15 weeks academic instruction at BRNC centred around understanding the principles of meteorology, theory of sensors and equipment, and the theory of the behaviour and characteristics of ships and submarines. This period also involved mentoring cadets during their basic training, ensuring they met the required standards.- 13 weeks at sea aboard an Amphibious Assault Ship which was acting as the flagship of a NATO Maritime Task Group within the Mediterranean. This involved working in all departments onboard to gain wider experience and understanding of the operation of a large and complex Warship (combined crew of >800). This also allowed a period of shadowing the Operations Officer during several multinational NATO exercises, involving complex coordination of air and sea assets to achieve the aim.

Working as a member of HMS Flying Fox, a Royal Naval Reserve unit in Bristol. Undertaking training alongside studying and employment, both as a qualified Rating and Officer Cadet. An interesting and varied role which included;- Being presented an award for outstanding leadership at a national training weekend- Representing the Royal Navy as a member of the Guard of Honour at the 2014 Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo- Serving st sea during a multinational military exercise- Recruiting for the RNR at public events across the South West of England- Volunteering to run the bar within the unit, promoting wider engagement in social functions to build camaraderie within the unit

- Responsible for the leadership and management of a diverse team of Cleaners and Porters over 2 floors of a major NHS Hospital.- Coordinating the fast response cleaning team to efficiently ensure infectious rooms were returned to the sufficient standard of cleanliness to receive new patients.- Auditing cleaning standards within my areas of responsibility to ensure the clinical spaces exceeded the expected standard.- Responding to cardiac arrests and serious falls within my wards to ensure suitable porter support was provided.- Covering shifts within other levels of the Hospital, including the Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit.
