I worked directly with approximately 150 CEO’s/MD’s to understand the issues impacting their business and help them:- Understand the local operating environment;- Build the investment cases for the Australian subsidiary;- Host discussions with, and introduce them to, local regulators, politicians and policy makers; - Create a network through which they can share and learn from each other’s experiences and challenges.The role was a combination of advisor, consultant and facilitator, helping the leaders identify strategic opportunities, alliances and best practice across industries which include financial and professional services, pharmaceuticals, med tech, construction, logistics, FMCG, technology, utilities among others. Examples of the kind of events and activities I arranged to enable this includes:• Organizing and hosting an annual two-day summit with Federal Government Ministers in Parliament House on the issues impacting MNC’s; • A similar event in NZ with their National Government; • Hosting and leading separate discussions with the Chair of the Reserve Bank; Chair of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission; Chairman of the Foreign Investment Review Board; NSW Government Ministers, various other regulators, politicians, local and international business and thought leaders. I facilitated discussions on a diverse range of subjects including the impact of regulatory and policy changes, taxation, changing commercial models, innovation, D&I, sustainability, ESG & CSR, cyber-security, IOT, data privacy, talent acquisition and retention. I:• Initiated and led the creation of a multilingual European operation in Gdynia, Poland to solve the need for consistent, cost effective creation of European reporting for a global audience. • Expanded a similar operation in Bangalore, India to support English language increase of coverage by 50%. • Drove a global strategic project focused on speed of data capture and transmission to ensure Reuters remained the leader in breaking news. This was achieved through a combination of technology enhancements, training and operational optimization.• Led a review and restructuring of output in 16+ languages to increase local sales effectiveness.• Worked on the introduction of data automation, AI an natural language processing to generate efficiencies. • Increased utilization of data and analytics to better inform decision making and priorities. • Conducted a review of the commercial segmentation of products and packaging.• Led M&A discussions with several potential targets. • Initiated a local partnership in India to reduce costs and meet specific local needs in the market.
