Drafted sections of briefs appealing sentencing orders and denials of writs of habeas corpus in capital cases. Interviewed clients and witnesses with supervising attorneys; observed hearings.

Reviewed and drafted opinions adopting or occasionally overturning recommendations by Magistrate Judges in cases brought by pro se inmates. Conducted legal research.

Drafted discovery requests and legal briefs in 42 USC §1983 litigation, including police excessive force, prison conditions, and employment discrimination claims.
