Provide comprehensive consultation services to vessel owner/operators on complex international and domestic (USA) regulatory compliance matters, with a special focus on environmental, safety, and construction regulations. Assist in the evaluation of large capital projects, including feasibility studies, cost estimation, and design/engineering assessments. Offer project management support throughout the duration of projects, acting as an owner’s representative at shipyards, design firms, vendor facilities, or regulatory bodies. Conduct damage assessments, pre/post-delivery surveys, and oversee dry-dock/repair operations as needed for vessel owners and or for insurance matters.

In my role as Manager of Technical Projects at Keystone Shipping Co., I provided technical and operational advice to the operations, engineering, and chartering departments. This advice was related to compliance, vessel modifications, new construction, damage, and other design or naval architecture matters. I managed the statutory and class compliance for a fleet of over 25 vessels, assisting in the scheduling and coordination of required inspections and responsible for ensuring that the fleet was in full compliance with statutory and class requirements. I reviewed and coordinated plans, specifications, and construction drawings for vessel new construction, modifications, repairs, and large technical projects. With my experience in auditing, I assisted the company in continually improving their safety and quality management system. This was achieved by drafting operating procedures and evaluating near misses and non-conformances. As the appointed Fleet Energy Efficiency Officer, I was responsible for the monitoring and improvement of the fleet’s GHG emissions and evaluating measures to improve. This role required a deep understanding of the technical and operational aspects of the maritime industry, strong compliance management skills, and the ability to coordinate and review plans and specifications effectively. It also involved a significant role in improving the company’s safety and quality management system and managing the fleet’s GHG emissions.

Gained a well-rounded and extensive knowledge of the maritime and offshore industry through diverse assignments in locations all over the world. Directly involved with regulatory inspections of new construction, dry dockings, modifications, and damage/repair projects throughout the maritime and oil/gas industries. Regularly interacted with shipyards, vendors, project managers, design engineers, and various Port States & Flag States. Conducted hands-on inspection and testing of steel structures, cargo gear, piping systems, electrical installations, drilling systems, various types of machinery, and crew/environmental safety. In an auditing role, carried out ISM, ISPS, MLC audits aboard various ship types and company offices, broadening my knowledge of how successful quality and safety management systems work. This role required a deep understanding of the maritime and offshore industry, strong interpersonal skills for daily contact with various stakeholders, and a keen eye for inspection and testing of various systems and structures.

The business mainly focused on fabrication and installation of natural slab granite and marble counter-tops in both residential and commercial projects. We used the latest CNC cutting technology and maximized efficiency by searching and implementing new fabrication techniques. Being the sole owner of the business I was involved with all operational aspects including preparing work schedules, inventory control, bidding, budget control, customer service, marketing, equipment selection, and management of all employees. The business was successfully sold in May 2007.

Primary focus was on preparing construction drawings to be sent to ABS surveyors and shipyards. I became familiar with ABS rules for design and construction, and the ABS process of plan review. This was also a time to become more familiar with aspects of naval architecture and marine engineering by ABS engineering staff.

Built a clientele of over 50 boats and small yachts in multiple locations. Duties included preparing work schedules, inventory control, job bidding, budget control, and managing two employees.
