I have over 20 years of experience working in higher education. I am currently a tenured professor of chemistry at Shawnee State, where I teach introductory chemistry and upper-level courses in analytical & physical chemistry.I have a strong commitment to undergraduate education, and enjoy teaching and supervising research projects at a small public university in southern Ohio. I help maintain our department instrumentation (GC-MS/NMR/HPLC/...) and am heavily involved in keeping our curriculum modern and in-line with ACS recommendations.I have served as a department chairperson (5 year), college dean (1 year), and an ACS local section leader (chair, secretary, member-at-large). I have also served on multiple university wide committees, including promotion & tenure, budget planning, faculty senate, and Finance/HR.I am always up for learning, and I currently dabble in brewing beer, data-analysis and data-modeling (Excel, Pivot-tables, Power BI), and computational chemistry (HyperChem, Spartan, and Gaussian).I have experience with the Microsoft Power Platform, including: - Power Automate (Process automation) - Power Apps (Low code applications) - Power BI (Business intelligence) - Power Virtual Agents (Chat bots)I have used the Power Platform experience to build out several analytical reports at my current workplace, including a budget-monitoring solution that is used across the entire organization.I also have worked with: - SharePoint (site design and intranet creation) - Fabric (end-to-end data solution) - Python - HTML/CSS - UNIX shell scripting - PowerShell - SQL Server - AzureI love to stay relevant in the world of higher education and technology solutions!
