As a Partner at Steptoe LLP, I assist with a wide range of regulations governing consumer financial products and services. My clients include a mix of financial institutions, retailers, established and start-up fintechs, as well as other entities who participate in payments systems, such as payment processors. I advise on the following laws and rules, among many others, as well as their respective implementing regulations, if any: the Truth in Lending Act, the Electronic Fund Transfer Act, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, the Equal Credit Opportunity Act, E-Sign, the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act, Fair Debt Collections Practices Act, card network and NACHA rules, and UDAAP, as well as relevant applicable state laws. I am particularly expert in regulations of credit cards and non-mortgage closed-end credit. I also have represented credit card issuers, processors, retailers and other parties in negotiating cobrand, private-label, agent bank credit card agreements, as well as processing agreements and credit card portfolio sale agreements
