As the only senior engineering leader at Holiday Extras during most of this time, my role was to look after about 76 engineers across multiple tribes and squads and ensure the engineering work was done efficiently and effectively. I had 10 Tech Leads reporting directly to me and I supported them in their day to day as well as their career progression. I worked closely with product, infra, security, HR and operations, working towards solving many long-standing problems that had arisen organically as the business grew.

Responsible for delivering software development projects, managing the team of developers and other IT staff, and the IT budget in our London office. This includes my previous role of Technical Architect where I retain my responsibility for the development methodology, technical direction and technology stack.

Responsible for the technical direction, software architecture and maintaining the technological relevance of the company. My work involves discovering new technologies and deciding which are needed, then applying them. I have also built up an elite team of developers in our London office, from scratch - handling the recruitment process on my own, and am managing the day to day development operations. I am also part of a small team that is currently implementing advanced development processes and methodologies.

I was hired by Alpharooms to build up a team in London to spearhead development on a new range of projects. My work involved a lot of recruiting and tech research.

We do all of our development in-house using the latest technologies and several open source projects to create very interesting solutions to common problems associated with our high demand, high traffic, real time website. Travel Republic is one of the leading travel booking providers in the UK and I'm happy to say I have played a relatively large part in bringing the IT side of the business to where it is today.
