Head Of Planning & Business Intelligence
Responsible for designing and leading the corporate planning and budgeting process for the University. The dimensions of this are aligning operational academic and service plans aligned to a budget of c.£150M. I am responsible for leading a team of 9 staff who have responsibility for supporting the operational and strategic processes through analysis, reporting and student surveys. I am involved in leading a number of cross-cutting strategic projects and issues, and this is reflected through my regular engagement and influence with the University’s Executive Team. I have a wide-ranging role that ensures successful strategic priorities are embedded across the University and also engagement with external agencies such as Scottish Funding Council and Scottish Government.• Leading the strategic planning process that has led to significant growth of income within the organisation, including reframing the size and shape of the University across a ten-year planning horizon. • Development and implementation of academic performance frameworks for the University, working alongside Executive Management Team• Spearheaded the development and implementation of strategic plans that aligned with the university's vision, resulting in enhanced resource allocation and improved organisational performance.• Established a comprehensive business intelligence framework, facilitating data-driven decision-making by providing actionable insights to senior leadership and key stakeholders. Winner of Business Analytics prize 2019 across all UK Universities.• External engagement with senior stakeholders in Scottish Government. Leading on the development and successful negotiation of annual Outcome Agreements with SFC• Initiated cross-functional projects to improve data collection, analysis, and reporting processes• Improvement to University league table position through enhancement of data • Mentored and coached team members
