I am very driven, I strive to learn and gain from every experience I encounter, whether it be positive or negative. I’m able to interact and communicate well as a part of a group, I’m dedicated and determined and I’m not afraid of accepting responsibility.I am passionate about the environment and understanding our planet and I am developing my knowledge on addressing current environmental issues, subsequently this has led to me enrolling in Environmental Science as my study of interest in Sheffield Hallam University where I will gain a Bachelor of Science degree.With my first side hustle AR Wood Work based in Bangor, County Down taking off in 2021 I had the opportunity to develop my ability to manage it all. This has lead to me making massive progress in my sales and marketing skills, and has given me a sense of true purpose. I have a strong passion for creating innovative designs and quality, bespoke craftwork, i give new life to old wood, making bespoke indoor/outdoor furniture pieces, garden bars and custom pieces! I am actively seeking and willing to learn from others in relation to business growth and personal development to further grow myself and my skill set. For the past 5-6 years I have played ice hockey in Belfast, however in recent years I have decided to gain experience at a higher level and choose Sheffield as my place of study as it hosts one of the UK’s best centre’s of excellence for ice hockey. Here, I am balancing the student-athlete lifestyle as I’m currently a full time student studying environmental science whilst competing in the NIHL2 division of the English ice hockey league. Due to the player development pathways, I have been granted numerous opportunities I wouldn’t get if I hadn’t moved to Sheffield such as playing for Team GB in an exhibition game, I have played in Varsity games with crowds upwards of 8000 attendees and have had offers for trials for Team England for games against Team Denmark. It is evident that for my progression in this sport, moving to Sheffield has been completely beneficial and provided me with opportunities I wouldn’t have got otherwise.
