I have been in a Safety Management position for approx. 10 years, specialising in the green and brown fields, Construction Industry.I have lead a team of Safety Officials (Safety Officers, Safety and Fire Watches, Safety Representatives, Fire Fighting Teams and Emergency Response Teams) over the years and completed on site and classroom training for. I have trained and educated Management and Supervisors in their Legal and Moral responsibilities to the OHSA, MHSA, and OHSAS 18001 AND 14001.I educate all employees on the reasons for working safely by implementing the Behaviour Based Safety concept which I pioneered at the Polokwane smelter. I do not believe that the Safety Department should be a hindrance to the progress of any Project, but should work hand in hand with all disciplines as we all work towards one common goal.The high light of my career, Mozal Project Phase 1 and 2, we completed the Project without any LTI, with 14500 people on site.The second highlight of my career, Polokwane Smelter, implementing the BBS concept, I love my job and I have a serious passion for Safety.My outside interest in life is gardening and golf.Regards
