Andrew Schilling heads Schilling Law LLC and represents entities and individuals in government investigations, internal investigations, and civil litigation. His practice includes the defense of civil enforcement actions by the US. Department of Justice and U.S. Attorneys' Offices (including False Claims Act and FIRREA matters), state Attorneys General, the FTC, and the CFPB. Andrew also regularly represents colleges and universities in investigations and litigation, and is a member of the National Association of College and University Attorneys (NACUA). Prior to founding Schilling Law LLC, Andrew served as head of the New York Office of Buckley LLP. Andrew has also previously served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York, including as Chief of the Civil Division and Chief of the Civil Rights Unit. As Civil Chief at the SDNY, he supervised all federal civil litigation by that office and established that office’s Civil Frauds Unit, which investigates cases in such areas as mortgage fraud, health care fraud, grant fraud, procurement fraud, and customs fraud. As Chief of the Civil Rights Unit, he handled both criminal civil rights investigations and prosecutions and civil enforcement actions, including under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Fair Housing Act, and laws protecting the rights of service members. Andrew was recognized in 2019 by Benchmark Litigation as one of the nation’s Top 100 Trial Lawyers, and he has been recognized by Legal 500 for his expertise in Financial Services Litigation (2014-2018), and by Super Lawyers for General Litigation in the New York metropolitan area (2013-2023). A graduate of Fordham Law School, Andrew also served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Joseph M. McLaughlin at the United States Court of Appeals of the Second Circuit.
