I work as the Sustainability Program Manager for BGR Packaging. BGR is a packaging supplies distributor that has recently begun to implement solutions for more sustainable packaging. My role is to build capacity in our Sustainability Program, and it is centered around three main tasks: 1. Developing our sustainable product offerings including a suite of Sustainable Packaging Audits for our customers and a product catalog of sustainable packaging supplies2. Researching and implementing internal sustainability initiatives. This includes an overhauled recycling program, energy efficient lighting, and FSC certification for our Label Printing division. 3. Creating marketing content that communicates to our customers best practices for sustainability and how certain sustainable product solutions can help them implement their sustainability goals. In May 2022 I graduated cum laude from The Ohio State University with a Bachelors of Science in Environment, Economy, Development, and Sustainability with a concentration in Sustainability in Business. At Ohio State, I completed multiple capstone projects. One of them was assessing the feasibility of installing solar panels at the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction. I also worked on a waste diversion initiative for the Furniture Bank of Central Ohio.
