- Managed and built the core development teams for ESX platform, composed of 90 engineers and managers for VMware's flagship virtualization operating system product. * Conceived of and drove ESXi architecture transition from ESX Classic. * Managed all core vmkernel platform teams, including vmkernel core, POSIX, CPU scheduler, memory management, vMotion and Storage vMotion. * Also managed Distributed Resource Scheduler and Distributed Power Management, ESX install and upgrade teams and ESX interface to vCenter management. * Managed all server partner relationships for ESX enablement and feature enablement. * Overall release management responsibility for most major and minor releases from 1.5 to 5.0.- Managed original ESX networking team and all networking feature development from ESX versions 1.5 to 3.0. * Managed development of the first hypervisor virtual switch in the industry. * Drove PCI passthru strategy and implementation, interacting with PCI-SIG. * Managed relationships with all NIC partners, virtual switch partners, and PCI passthru partners for enablement and feature exposure in ESX.
