In this role I managed multiple federal aid programs, including the State Planning and Research program, Alternative Fuels Corridor program, Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality program, and National Highway Freight programs. Training and development courses that I completed during the program include a graduate certificate in economic development, leadership skills academy, funding federal aid highways, and federal aid 101. I also completed rotational developmental assignments as a planner for multiple projects with Western Federal Lands, a congressional specialist with FHWA’s Congressional Affairs Team, a financial specialist with the Michigan finance team, and an urban planner with the Knoxville Transportation Planning Organization.

Provided complex and technical professional assistance to the City Manager in planning, organizing, developing, coordinating, maintaining and directing the overall operations and activities of the City. Managed and directed special projects related to economic development, federal programs, city services, and public works. Managed and conducted analysis and implementation of programs and projects that improved the City’s economic development plan, city services, optimized revenue collection, and reduced costs.

Served as the chief resourcing officer, transportation officer, and assistant planning officer for the 2017 Gainey Cup, an international reconnaissance competition for the entire U.S. Army, as well as multiple NATO nations. Was responsible for coordinating all resources for events, the transportation of competitors and logistical elements during the competition, as well as assisting in planning the entire competition. Achieving outstanding results with severely restricted resources and time. Responsible for coordinating and executing all operations within the Squadron (an element of approximately 400 soldiers), leveraging people and assets to accomplish all missions assigned by higher headquarters. Selected above eight other peers to serve as the chief planning officer for high profile ceremonies and services for VIPs and foreign dignitaries. Selected to serve as an investigating officer into a loss of property, with the result of $84,000 worth of missing or destroyed equipment being accounted for and responsibility for the loss being properly adjudicated according to the UCMJ and Army Regulations. Served as the chief liaison between higher headquarters and my organization, seamlessly nesting priorities and tasks within the intent of my higher headquarters. Served as the Squadron chief environmental compliance officer, responsible for managing the environmental program for 400 soldiers and six army schools. Was the only environmental officer out of four organizations to pass the instillation and EPA environmental inspections.

Managed the transition of a secure weapons storage facility, worth approximately $10 million, from instillation to my organization and then from my organization to our higher headquarters within an eight month time period. This resulted in no loss of equipment or operability, with the project being completed 3 months ahead of schedule.Served as the interim manager of a secure weapons storage facility, responsible for the security and accountability of approximately $5 million in weapons and equipment, as well as the development of policies and procedures to maximize efficiency while maintaining accountability. 100% accountability was maintained across 4 organizations and as a result, productivity was greatly increased.Was selected to serve as the Environmental Compliance Officer for my organization, ensuring compliance with EPA and DOD environmental regulations. Only one reported accident during 1 year period and was recognized by Brigade Safety Officer for outstanding performance.Created a maintenance tracking system that was adopted by entire organization due to its efficacy.
