I am currently employed as a Police Officer for the Granby Police Department and have been employed in law enforcement since 2013. I have successfully completed Police Officers Standards and Training (POST) and have received training in detecting drivers who are under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. I have been trained to instruct and preform the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests (SFSTs) to include the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus Test, Walk and Turn Test, One Leg Stand Test. In addition to my training in SFSTs I have been trained in how to administer and interpret the Lack of Convergence TEst, Modified Romberg test and the Finger to Nose Test. I have completed the the Advanced Roadside Impaired Driving Enforcement (ARIDE) class. I have used my skills to determine if an operator of a motor vehicle is under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. Through my career as a law enforcement officer I have come to the conclusion that some of the drivers stopped where under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, my conclusions have been supported by breath or blood tests. Through my career as a law enforcement officer I have evaluated individuals dtermined to be safe to operate motor vehicles. In my current position at the Granby Police Department I was selected to take over the Field Training Program. Those duties have included evaluating and changing the training curriculum as well as train new officers to the department.
