Responsible for the administration of the Control-M Enterprise scheduling environment for distributed systems running on Linux, Unix, and Windows platforms. In order to ensure a high level of service and value for the business, this position involves 1) working with the business applications teams (SAP, Cloud, B2B, Database, Mainframe Applications, etc.) and leading the Scheduling Analysts to gain an in-depth understanding of requirements to provide optimal solutions for complex processing schedules and dependencies via Control-M job configurations, 2) problem-solving and incident resolution, stepping in especially for complex issues and providing guidance and direction to the team leading to successful and thorough resolution, 3) planning and deploying software, database, and server upgrades, 4) writing custom code in Java, SQL, Python, and Powershell for monitoring and automated recovery of Control-M operations - ensuring continuous availability - and for interfacing with web services using Rest APIs to integrate Control-M outputs with ticketing systems and data repositories for proactive support, auditing, and reporting. Also responsible for setting up and administering an Apache Airflow web server running within Docker on an Ubuntu Linux platform and creating Dags for experimental processes.

Analyze requirements, design and code object-oriented and modular software solutions using Java, Cobol, Sql, JCL, Mainframe, Unix and Linux mainly for EDI and B2B processes.Created a backend Java application for parsing I/B and O/B EDI X12, EDIFACT, and TRADACOMS data and re-formatting it into status monitoring records for induction into the Seeburger B2B application.Created a desktop Java application to load and analyze Cobol source code and present it in a scrollable split-pane gui panel with a navigable tree structure on left-hand side where expandable and clickable nodes are labelled according to paragraph names and linked according to the flow of the program code. Clicking on a node reveals the source code of the corresponding paragraph on the righthand side of the split-pane. The application also provides advanced find, goto paragraph, and return features as well as an invert hierarchy function. Developed a binary merge sort module in Cobol for the mainframe. The module is called from the EDI order processing program which formerly was using an instream bubble sort. The new module reduced run-times for large volume orders from over one hour to less than two minutes. It is also generic and may be called from any other programs requiring in-memory, real-time sorting. Wrote a Cobol/DB2/CICS online program to replace an existing batch program to enable a multi-threaded approach to processing large volume EDI X12-214 batches. This resolved processing bottlenecks often experienced with the single-threaded batch mode approach.Wrote the Cobol/IMS-BMP and DB2 Edit and Load program for the ASN DoorLog project. The program validates data values and logical consistency between various sub-sections within the hierarchy of inbound EDI-X12 856 transactions. After successfully passing the validations, the various levels (sub-sections) of the transaction are loaded into corresponding DB2 tables. The program can be restarted from previous commit point via the JCL.

Analysis and coding for billing and customer care systems of a major telecommunications billing services provider

Analysis, design, and coding for an IMS/DB2, mainframe-hosted billing system of a regional telecommunications carrier. Project consisted of analyzing and modifying existing code and creating new modules for the Company's project to consolidate local and long-distance carrier charges onto a single bill. Written in Cobol, JCL, SQL and IMS DLI.

Lead Analyst/Developer for a COBOL/DB2/IMS-based WIP and Job Costing module of a Standard Cost project associated with implementation of the MACPAC Inventory and MRP system.The programs in the Module were deigned to access material & labor component costs as well as overhead rates from Standard Cost DB2 tables to calculate total Work-In-Process and Materials inventory costs based on the parts' Bill-Of-Materials and Labor Sheets and cost variances based on actuals from purchasing and labor pay data.
