I recently graduated from Fordham University’s Gabelli School of Business. Throughout my academic career, I have held a 3.6 GPA and graduated with a degree in Business Economics and a minor in sustainability. These educational degrees alongside my skills gained through experience are going to help me find an entry-level position to kickstart my career. Gabelli poses an opportunity to all of its sophomores called the Consulting Cup Challenge. Throughout the fall semester, students are placed into a group of six and expected to complete a full analysis of a company to find weaknesses in the company. My group was given Williams-Sonoma and we realized their e-commerce website was not up to the standard of competition. Our group effectively developed a three-step implementation plan that would help Williams-Sonoma diversify its customer base while giving customers more confidence in their purchasing decisions. Our idea, outline, and presentation landed us among the semifinalists. This challenge was beneficial as it taught me technical skills such as how to properly research and act in professional settings while also working on fundamental life skills like time management and working with a team.Following my experience in the consulting cup, I worked at Fleet Feet as a retail sales associate in the Malls at Columbus Circle. Here, I was tasked with welcoming customers and providing them with extensive knowledge about our product inventory. The main goal of this position was to match customers with the best-fit shoes for their exercise. This work carried over to my next retail sales associate position at Marathon Sports in Cambridge, MA. Continuing my time at Marathon Sports, it became important for us to introduce customers to new products like insoles for shoes and running socks. Once I realized the utility of these additional products, I was able to effectively communicate that to customers. This slotted me as one of the top salesmen at my store. During the summer of 2023, I sold over $65,000 worth of inventory with an add-on percentage of 32% for insoles and 29% for running socks. In addition to being dedicated to my work, I am also passionate about my hobbies.
