One of six Marine Officers selected to engage directly as a personal escort to the President of the United States, the First Family, the Vice President of the United States, foreign heads of state, Members of Congress, foreign and domestic dignitaries, and all guests of the President and First Lady at state dinners, messaging events, bill signings, and other public/private events. ★SUCCESS HIGHLIGHTS★► Served as liaison and advisor to two presidential administrations. At this time, I was performing three full-time positions simultaneously. I supported the Company Commander with operational planning, oversaw the grounds maintenance platoon, and marched on the parade staff. I managed and coordinated research, development, and creation of new MCI courses and oversaw the revision of previously existing courses. I was tapped to perform at the level of Major while I was a First Lieutenant, two ranks above my own. I led 100+ employees with direct operational oversight, including supply chain management, inventory, finances, and personnel. As a leader, I dealt with personnel issues, an unforgiving operational tempo, and especially challenging: a shortage of viable AV-8B replacement parts.We incorporated process improvement strategies using Lean Six Sigma, and the Theory of Constraints. By analyzing hard data and fostering an atmosphere where creativity and divergent thinking were rewarded, we achieved marked improvements in customer wait time, as well as “mission capability” percentages.★SUCCESS HIGHLIGHTS★► Received Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal for performing multiple above-grade roles from June 2011 to July 2014.►►► “One of the best First Lieutenants I have ever worked with,” LtCol Patrick Waugh, Commanding Officer. ► Received best score of all three 3d Marine Aircraft Wing logistics units during the 3d MAW Functional Area Assist inspection, winter 2012 and spring 2013.

+++Simultaneously performed multiple staff positions at squadron headquarters level within a 900+ man unit.+++ Due to my seniority and previous performance, I was selected for responsibilities outside of my occupational specialty. In assuming all three roles, I received no guidance or instruction from the previous officers. I supervised 20 employees in three separate departments, each with disparate missions, needs, and leadership requirements. Oversaw maintenance of 16 buildings, grounds, equipment, and billeting for 700+ Marines and Sailors. Directed coordination of unit deployments supporting Operation Enduring Freedom. Monitored safety, maintenance, training/certification, and security programs to ensure operational planning and readiness. ★SUCCESS HIGHLIGHTS★► Managed, tracked, and coordinated 115 transportation, tactical vehicle, heavy equipment, and personnel requests in support of Operation Enduring Freedom deployments, multiple training exercises, Marine Expeditionary Units, and other requirements throughout MALS-13 and MAG-13, to include the redeployment of 34 Marines in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.► Coordinated and oversaw vital enlisted billeting renovations, ultimately leading to the successful consolidation of three separate enlisted quarters into one newly renovated barracks for the unit’s Marines.► Relocated 228 Mobile Maintenance Facilities after coordinating logistical support with civilian and military entities.

+++HAND-SELECTED TO FILL A CAPTAIN’S BILLET, WITH RESPONSIBILITIES NOTABLY ABOVE GRADE LEVEL, in a technical, detail-oriented, and high-stakes logistical environment. +++Led 35+ employees in the correct fulfillment of 200 material requirements per week to five support squadrons. Managed a repairable inventory of 2,106 items valued at $197M+, supporting five AV-8B Harrier squadrons, various local Intermediate Maintenance Activities, as well as multiple Depot Level Maintenance Activities. Applied Continuous Process Improvement to the aviation supply warehouse and global logistics environment. Accurate inventory management, as well as “right sizing” our inventory posture was a tremendous challenge due to the rapid and concurrent worldwide demand for items. We predicted the next year’s usage of particular items based upon historical data, mission requirements, intelligence gathered from clients, as well as gut instinct. ★SUCCESS HIGHLIGHTS★► Successfully coordinated and developed a prioritized list of components which degraded AV-8B aircraft readiness across the Type/Model/Series. That list was later used by NAVSUP at the 2012 Boeing AV-8B Readiness Degrader Conference located at Boeing’s facility in St Louis, Missouri.

Supervised eight employees in a forward-operating environment supporting the combat operations of Operation Enduring Freedom. We were challenged by the restricted communications with stateside operations, as well as the competing interests of three Marine Air Wings. Managed a budget of $460M+ and all financial reporting, tracking spending accurately to ensure the proper appropriation of four operating fund codes supporting maintenance and flight hour costs for six flying squadrons and 84 aircraft. It was often difficult to convey our needs and priorities to civilians/military stateside. We got creative and planned ahead to prevent funding shortfalls. ★SUCCESS HIGHLIGHTS★► Awarded Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal for leading two essential divisions in the largest, and most diverse aviation supply department in the Marine Corps. ► Successfully challenged and recouped more than $4.6M in historically erroneous obligations charged to the 2d and 3d Marine Aircraft Wings Forward.► Saved $6.9M+ after meticulously reviewing 12K+ requisitions for validity, and identifying inaccurately obligated funds.

Supervised the procurement, expedition, receipt, and delivery of Direct Turnover (DTO) aircraft material requirements in support of Marine Aircraft Group-13 aviation units. By building relationships with squadron leadership, and using effective communication, I was able to understand their needs and their priorities. This was helpful when coordinating global procurement and delivery of items from, at times remote locations. Success in this position required steadfast communication with a myriad of government, military, and civilian agencies in order to locate, create, and ship materials. I briefed supported Squadron’s leadership on the list of “high priority” items on a weekly basis. We were constantly challenged by the unavailability or shortage of AV-8B parts. ★SUCCESS HIGHLIGHTS★► Successfully expedited the procurement of 1200+ high priority requisitions valued at more than $13.8M, directly affecting the readiness posture of four Marine VMA squadrons, and as a result, exceeded all readiness goals.► During this period, selected from among more than eight peers to deploy in support of Operation Enduring Freedom 12.1 to Helmand Province, Afghanistan.
