Providing Windows Server 2012 R2 deployment and general Microsoft support to deploy a variety of virtualized servers in classified and unclassified environments to transition the Military Sealift Command (MSC) Network Operations Center (NOC) from San Diego Afloat NOC (ANOC) to the Hawaii Pacific Region NOC (PRNOC).

Cloud (Amazon GovCloud), virtualization (VMware), and server engineering (Windows and Linux) at BAE Systems in support of the DOD DI2E PlugFest program.

Managed servers and desktops in support of 400 users, including Microsoft Windows XP / 7 / Server 2003/8, VMware ESX 3/5, SQL Server, ISA Server, SharePoint Server, and Avaya and Aspect phone systems. HIPAA and PCI Compliance auditing and remediation. Created and managed computer imaging using Altiris Deployment Solution 7.1.

Created/managed a technical training program to train and certify 25 staff engineers in Microsoft Windows 7/Server 2008, Linux, VMware ESX 3/4, Alcatel-Lucent PBX, and CompTIA A+/Network+/Server+. Created/managed a training environment using VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, and Windows Server 2003/8.

Designed, installed, and managed a wide variety of Intel-based server and desktop systems. Had expeirence with NetWare 4/5/6, Windows 95/98/NT/2K/XP on the desktop side, and Windows NT/2K/2003 on the server side. Designed, installed and managed Storage Area Networks (SAN), and high availability / clustered server sytesm (both NetWare and Windows). Implemented desktop management products, including Altiris Deployment / Notification Server, and Novell ZENworks. Deployed RedHat Linux 7/8/9 prototype desktop and server images for evaluation purposes.

Served as a temp worker, performing systems administrator duties for Windows and NetWare servers, incluidng e-mail services and desktop support.

Designed, installed, and managed a variety of Intel-based server and desktop systems, including Windows 95/NT, NetWare, LANtastic OS/2, DOS, backup systems, e-mail systems, Internet connection systems (includuing TCP/IP, routers, and gateways), and a wide variety of user applications.

I served as a mid-level manager for 11 years in the Navy, overseeing between 15 and 250 enlisted personnel in the performance of preventive and corrective maintenance on a wide variety of electronic equipment. I also conceived, drafted, got approval for, and implemented the first afloat microcomputer repair shop on the West Coast in the Navy onboard the USS Jason (AR-8). During this time I had my first experience with Intel-based microcomputers, and did a lot of personal work behind the scenes building, repairing, installing, and operating a variety of computer systems and software, including DOS, Windows 3.1, OS/2, NetWare 3.x, and Windows NT 3.5x.
