Andrew is a systems integration and infrastructure architect with a proven track record of delivering excellent work in challenging and complex environments. He is currently a Senior Solutions Architect for the Networks and Power Distribution directorate within SSE. He has particular expertise defining and governing solutions to non-functional system requirements. His work concentrates on the design of systems including; applications, middleware, servers, storage, workstations, middleware, packaged application software, and the physical facilities that support the applications and business processes required. This includes the critical evaluation and selection of the software and hardware components of the infrastructure. To do this I use various techniques including modeling, simulation, and testing to validate the designs and selected products. I am most often responsible for operability, performance, availability and scalability of the systems I work with.My most recent area of architecture ownership was building a framework around managing obsolete and non-strategic technology which poses a risk to the organisation and is coming towards end of life.I also have experience of defining migration and consolidation programmes on medium to large scale systems modernisation projects inside the UK.
