• Defined computationally two possible mechanisms of phenol-induced O–O bond cleavage in a heme-Cu-peroxo complex, and determined the active mechanism by experimentally evaluating the computational predictions
• Identified and characterized pH-dependent behavior in ubiquinol oxidase from E. coli, applied the findings to determine optimal conditions for stabilizing key catalytic intermediates in heme-copper oxidases, and worked.
