Andrew has held the position of Company Director and Vice President International at Saab UK, a full spectrum defence and security company, since January 2022; he is responsible for inward investment into the UK and also for export activities from the UK and from Sweden where his focus is on the three strategic product areas of fighter aircraft, submarines and airborne surveillance. He leads on external engagement including AUKUS, NATO and Government. He is a Board member of Saab UK Ltd. Previously, he was Head of Marketing & Sales in Saab UK and before that was Head of Strategic Marketing for SAAB in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Earlier, he worked for one of the Big 4 professional services firms in London, in corporate finance and consulting, specifically in economic impact assessments of major government investment decisions, before moving to Saab on a full time basis. In an earlier career, he served in the Royal Air Force as a fighter pilot, rising to 2* level (Air Vice-Marshal) with operational, command, management and budgetary responsibilities in the UK and abroad.
