Andrew Wang is a versatile and accomplished singer who has been singing since the time he could talk! Raised just outside of New York City, he began singing in a temple choir at the age of nine. He continued training with well-known New York area vocal teachers in classical, broadway, pop, and jazz genres. During high school, he directed and sang in an a cappella choir and led them to winning first prize at a county-wide championship. Andrew was a soloist for his high school chamber choir and performed with them as a soloist in Rome and Argentina. In 2009, Andrew performed with Idina Menzel at Madison Square Garden for the Maccabi Games. Recently, he has performed with the Latin rock star, Juanes, in Miami.Along with singing, Andrew is a versatile instrumentalist who has studied piano, guitar, and drums for the past twelve years. He has also studied musical theater at the renowned Stagedoor Manor Theater Program and has had several lead and supporting roles in community and school productions. Andrew’s strong sense of rhythm inspired him to study jazz dance and tap dancing for several years, both of which he incorporated into hismusical theater performances. In 2011, Andrew began attending the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami where he has majored in Music Education and Jazz Voice. While there, he often performed as a soloist in jazz vocal ensembles, rhythm & blues ensembles, an all male classical choir, the Second Avenue Jewish Chorale, and the university’s coed a cappella choir where he sings, beat boxes and arranges music.Andrew's passion for teaching was nurtured and cultivated through a music education program, which focused on choral conducting and how to teach all band and orchestral instruments to students from kindergarten through high school.
